Students are the most frequent target group when it comes to internships. But they are not the only ones who take this chance. Anyone willing to learn can apply for an internship.

For people with no work experience, internships are precious. They are the opportunity for learning and growth, and they are also preparing them both for life and their career.

Here are some statistics and trends on remote internships.

  1. Over 60% of students in the graduating classes of 2019 have completed at least one internship. (Forbes) In 2017, 81% of students had completed an internship by the time they graduated. In 2018, the number fell to 77%. Before COVID-19 hit, the share of graduates with no interning experience rose to 31%.

  2. 70.4% of interns get offered a job after an internship. (NACE) Of those, 79.6% accept the offer they get. While candidates do not need to have an internship to get hired, and an internship certainly does not guarantee you a job, internship statistics for 2022 show it does boost your job prospects.

  3. Companies save $2 billion (about $6 per person in the US) per year because of internships. (Business Insider) Unpaid internship statistics can offer some explanations. Employing interns instead of full-time workers allows companies to keep almost $2 billion (about $6 per person in the US) per year. There is a hole in every law, and corporations are using every inch of it. When hiring interns from their private databases, companies save $15,000 per person.

  4. Just over 70% of employers end up offering their interns full-time jobs. Almost 80% of students accept these offers. (National Association of Colleges and Employers)

  5. Statistics on internships demonstrate that 46.2% of students believe COVID-19 has made internships more valuable. (CareerUp)

6. According to 32.7% of the survey respondents, the importance of internships has not changed due to the impact of the pandemic.

7.Of the students with virtual internships, 67% want daily check-ins with their manager
